Become a tutor
An hour a week,
a subject you already know.
If you are strong in a subject and willing to give an hour a week, we want to hear from you. No teaching experience needed.
Email us about volunteeringWhat the commitment looks like
You tell us your subjects and your availability. We match you with a student whose needs and schedule line up with yours. You meet online or in person, on a schedule the two of you set. If your semester gets heavy, you tell us and we adjust.
Tutors log volunteer hours through the program, and we can verify those hours for school service requirements, scholarships, or honor societies. That verification comes from Forma et Anima, a registered 501(c)(3), so it holds up.
What matters is that you know the material and can stay patient with someone who does not know it yet. Most of our tutors are teaching a course they finished within the last year or two, which is exactly why they are good at it.
Where we need people most
Math
Everything from elementary arithmetic through calculus. This is the most requested subject by a wide margin.
Science
Biology, chemistry, and physics, at both regular and AP level.
Reading and writing
Elementary reading, essay structure, and revision. Useful for anyone who writes well, not only English students.
Test prep
If you have taken the SAT or ACT recently and did well, that experience is directly usable.

Tell us three things
The subjects you would be comfortable tutoring, your grade or year and school, and roughly when you are free. That is enough for us to start matching.
